What’s Included
As dancers progress, increased class time becomes essential for refining technique and mastering more complex movement. That’s why we gradually extend class length at higher levels-to support their development as skilled, expressive performers.
If your dancer is serious about their training, summer classes are a vital part of their growth. They offer a valuable opportunity to strengthen technique, build confidence, and make remarkable progress in a short period of time.
In addition to our evening classes, we’re excited to once again offer a daytime Summer Intensive for intermediate and advanced ballet dancers, available by audition.
The Rochester School of Dance Summer Intensive is designed to develop well-rounded dancers through exposure to a wide variety of disciplines. With a strong foundation in versatile ballet technique-not tied to a single style-students will also study classical repertoire, variations, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and stretch. The program runs in five weekly sessions from July 13 through mid-August, Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Students may register for 2 to 5 weeks. Summer Intensive Auditions will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026. 10:30-12:30 (Ages 13-19), 12:30-2:00 (Ages 9-12). Registration 15 minutes prior to audition time. $25 Cash Audition Fee required. Contact the studio for additional details and information.
Our evening summer classes are open to dancers ages 3 through adult, from beginners to advanced levels. Classes include ballet, pointe, variations, jazz, lyrical, and tap. Evening classes run June 16-June 25 and July 14-August 13, Tuesday through Thursday beginning at 4:30 PM. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to stay in shape over the summer, our evening program is a fantastic way to experience the Rochester School of Dance. We welcome new students-summer is the perfect time to try a class and discover all that we have to offer.

Does my student have to be previously enrolled with Rochester School of Dance to attend the summer dance program?
No, we welcome any child who wishes to participate.
Is a uniform required?
For ballet; black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair should be secured in a bun if possible.
Can my child come for one day only?
Yes, a single day enrollment is fine for the summer program.
