Pre-Professional Division

At the Rochester School of Dance, our Pre-Professional Division offers dancers the opportunity to pursue elite, career-focused ballet training, without ever leaving Michigan.

Open to intermediate and advanced dancers by audition only, this program is designed for students committed to the highest artistic standards. Our curriculum blends classical training from the Russian, French, Italian, and American schools, equipping dancers with the versatility and depth needed in today’s ever-changing dance world.

Under the guidance of experienced faculty with professional backgrounds, students receive rigorous daily instruction in classical technique, strength, and artistry, while learning to prevent injury and sustain long-term performance health. Every dancer is mentored in a nurturing yet disciplined environment that supports both growth and excellence.

This division serves as a vital bridge between academic training and the professional stage. Many of our students go on to top college programs, elite summer intensives, and professional careers in ballet and contemporary dance.
Dancers accepted into the Pre-Professional Division are required to attend all scheduled afternoon, evening, and Saturday classes. At this advanced level, consistent attendance is crucial for developing the technique, strength, and focus necessary to thrive.
