Studio Policies

Take a look at the rules and guidelines that our teachers, students and parents adhere to.

ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING SCHOOL POLICY SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE OFFICE MANAGER, MONDAY THRU THURSDAY 5:00–9:00 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 11:30–3:00 PM at (248) 652-3117

ABSENCES:

  • If your dancer needs to miss class more than two times in a row, informing the office and/or teacher is appreciated.
  • Make-up classes for classes missed are allowed and should be made in the appropriate level. Your teacher can help you find the appropriate class if needed.
  • There are no adjustments or refunds for classes missed.
  • All make-up classes must be completed within one month of absence.

TUITION PAYMENTS:

  • Tuition rates are based on a nine-week session.
  • A registration fee is collected annually per student. 
  • Discounts are offered when taking multiple classes over 1 hour in length per class, per student.
  • All tuition is due and payable in advance at the beginning of each nine-week session.
  • NO TUITION REFUNDS OR ADJUSTMENTS will be made for classes missed.
  • After a two-week grace period, a $25.00 late charge will be applied to overdue accounts and student will be asked to refrain from taking class until account is brought up to date.
  • A $35 charge will be accessed for bank returned or stopped payments. 
  • A processing fee will be charged for credit or debit card payments.

    ENROLLMENT:

    • Scheduled classes may be cancelled or combined due to lack of enrollment. If cancelled, the unused tuition will be applied to another class of your choosing or be refunded.
    • Registration for classes may be completed in person during office hours or online.
    • Trial classes are available upon request for new students.
    • Private and semi-private lessons are available upon request.

    SCHOOL CLOSINGS:

    • When local schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Rochester School of Dance usually follows suit.  Please listen to your local weather station for closings and also call the studio for confirmation
    • Classes missed due to inclement weather, extra rehearsals, holidays or special events should be made up by the student during the school year (Sept-June) at appropriate class of your and/or your teachers choosing.  There will be no refunds for classes missed.

    STUDENT PICK UP:

    • Please be prompt collecting students after class.  A $15.00 fee will be charged when the staff must wait more than 15 minutes after the last class of the evening.

    WAIVERS:

    • I understand the nature of the physical demands of this activity and the policies set forth by Rochester School of Dance, LLC.  I have noted any medical or physical conditions on the enrollment form which might affect participation.  I therefore release any and all rights or claims for damages against Rochester School of Dance, LLC, and all individuals assisting in the instruction or conduction of their activities, for any and all injuries, loss of damages suffered by myself or the participant at or in a studio activity.
    • Permission is granted upon enrollment to use any photos taken in class or at recital to be used in future publications, including website entries without payment.
    • Virtual Classes and COVID-19 waivers are considered accepted with enrollment.
    • By enrolling in one or more classes at the Rochester School of Dance, I fully understand and agree to the policy and terms described.
